THIRD TERM IS FOR PRIMARY SCHOOLS, ABAK STATE CONSTITUENCY IS NOT ONE BY UWEM ETUKUDO SR

The political atmosphere in Abak Local Government Area has become extremely charged and understandably so. What we are witnessing is a growing attempt to distort a longstanding understanding that has guided the peaceful rotation of political representation within our constituency.

Let it be made very clear that there is absolutely nothing like a “third term” in the State House of Assembly in Abak State Constituency under the guise of returning as a “No.3” man of the Legislative echelon for a second time.

Candidly, the constitution of the  Leadership of the House of Assembly is an internal legislative process and can not be used as a loophole to undermine the zoning arrangement that guarantees fairness among the 2 blocs and 5 clans of Abak.

The zoning arrangement in Abak was not created by accident. It was built on the principles of equity, balance and mutual respect, to ensuring that every clan has the opportunity to be represented.

Any attempt to tamper with that arrangement is  politically insensitive and also a direct challenge to the collective understanding that has kept Abak united.

By every moral, political and institutional standard, the Eastern Annang bloc is the rightful bloc to produce the next member of the State House of Assembly.

To be very sincere, this is the turn of Midim not by favour but simply the natural progression of the zoning agreement that binds us together as a constituency.

As youths of Abak, we are no longer passive observers in matters that determine the future of our land. We are organized, aware and determined to defend what is right. We will not watch while the rules that protect fairness are twisted to serve narrow personal ambitions.

Let every political actor hear this clearly that any attempt to undermine the zoning arrangement will meet the united resistance of the youths of Abak.

Our demand is simple and just. Respect the existing protocol, respect equity and respect the will of the people.

Abak belongs to all of us, not to a few individuals who believe power must revolve endlessly around them. The time has come to protect the integrity of our political agreements and ensure that justice prevails.

The message from the youths is clear and unwavering

The zoning must stand. Midim’s turn must be respected because we will resist any political manipulation.

To this end, since there is no impact in lighting a candle under the sun, Abak State constituency is not a primary school, only Primary schools do third term.
