OGA TEASER, ISAAC NICE, TOYIN EMPIRE UNVEIL IBOM ICONIC AWARDS, ANNOUNCE DECEMBER CEREMONY
Oga Teaser, Isaac Nice and Toyin Empire have unveiled the maiden Ibom Iconic Awards, an initiative designed to recognise outstanding individuals, brands and organisations contributing to the development and promotion of Akwa Ibom State, with the award ceremony scheduled for December 2026.
The organisers made this known on Friday, August 7, 2026, during a press briefing and unveiling of the awards at Crystalem Hotels, Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo.
Ekanem Ekanem, popularly known as Oga Teaser, who is the Public Relations Officer of the organising committee, said the awards were established to celebrate indigenous talents and exceptional personalities whose creativity, innovation and dedication had projected Akwa Ibom positively.
He said the initiative would promote excellence across various sectors and inspire younger people to pursue their talents, passion and integrity.
Oga Teaser said the organisers were committed to ensuring that nominations and selection of award recipients were based on merit through a transparent and unbiased process.
He added that the initiative was also aimed at positioning Akwa Ibom as a destination for excellence and opportunities.
The Project Manager of the awards, Uyouko Isaac, popularly known as Isaac Nice, said the maiden edition would feature 35 categories covering business, media, entertainment, education, public service and community development.
Isaac Nice announced that the awards ceremony would be held in December 2026, adding that the categories were designed to recognise individuals and organisations making notable contributions across different sectors.
The Treasurer of the organising committee, Toyin Shonda, popularly known as Toyin Empire, said the awards were intended to encourage individuals and organisations to sustain the pursuit of excellence and motivate others to make meaningful contributions to society.
She expressed optimism that the initiative would develop into a credible platform for recognising outstanding achievements and inspiring greater accomplishments across Akwa Ibom State.
The award categories include entrepreneurs, journalists, bloggers, content creators, radio stations, musicians, Nollywood practitioners, educational institutions, political office holders, hospitality brands, construction firms, healthcare institutions and other distinguished personalities.
