The Akwa Ibom State College of Education, Afaha Nsit, has announced plans to hold convocation of 2700 NCE graduates from six graduating sets on October 3, 2025.
The Provost, Prof. Daniel G. Udo, disclosed this during a press conference ahead of the event, noting that the convocation will cover graduates from the 2015/2016 to 2020/2021 academic sessions.
According to him, the ceremony is divinely timed to coincide with his exit as Provost after serving the institution since 2019.
“It is the act of God, and the Governor has graciously approved October 3rd for the convocation,” Prof. Udo said.
“This will also mark my last official day as Provost of this college.”
NewsNectarNG reports that Prof. Udo, who took over at a time he described as “a huge challenge,” highlighted some achievements during his tenure. These include the completion of TETFund projects, establishment of a JAMB CBT center, revival of the institution’s ICT facilities, clearance of staff claims worth N160 million, and improved financial transparency through the use of a functional portal.
He added that the college has maintained uninterrupted academic sessions since 2019, except for the COVID-19 break, which has made it possible to graduate six complete batches.
“We declared a state of emergency on sanitation and accountability when I assumed office, and today we can say we have stabilized the system,” he said.
The Provost further expressed appreciation to the Akwa Ibom State Government, TETFund, and the host communities for their support.
The combined convocation will also feature the commissioning of newly completed projects by TETFund and will have in attendance the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno and other top dignitaries.
