Paul Ekpo Launches ‘Return to School Program,’ To Empower Etinan Federal Constituency pupils
The member representing Etinan/Nsit Ibom/Nsit Ubium Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Obong Paul Ekpo, has launched the “Return to School Program,” an educational support initiative aimed at assisting pupils in public primary schools across the constituency.
The program, designed to promote basic education and complement Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda, includes the distribution of exercise books, writing materials, and school sandals to pupils in Etinan, Nsit Ibom, and Nsit Ubium Local Government Areas.
Speaking during the official flag-off ceremony held at the constituency office in Etinan, Obong Ekpo said the initiative was conceived to ease the burden on parents and encourage children to return to school with renewed enthusiasm.
He described education as the bedrock of development and reaffirmed his commitment to human capital investment.
Representing the lawmaker at the event, the Director General of the Paul Ekpo Campaign Organization, Hon. Friday Dick, lauded the initiative and praised the lawmaker’s consistent efforts in supporting education.
He recalled that Ekpo had earlier purchased over 150 JAMB forms for students across the constituency.
He further said that about 11 public schools in Etinan, 10 in Nsit Ibom and Nsit Ubium respectively. Among those visited were

In Etinan LGA, beneficiaries included pupils of Salvation Army School, Ekom Iman; St. Patrick’s School, Mbioto Ikot Nseyen; St. Martin’s UNA School, Ikot Udobia; Qua Iboe Primary School, Ekpene Obom/Ikot Inyang Osom; St. John’s UNA School; St. Paul’s School, Ikot Esien Oku; St. Thomas School, Ikot Eba; Mbioto Town School II; St. Mary’s (RCM) School, Nkana Iman; and Salvation Army Primary School, Ikot Akpan Abio Ekot.
In Nsit Ubium LGA, donations were made to Government Primary School, Ikot Ekwere; Government Primary School, Ikot Okwot; Nsit Ubium African Church School, Ikot Eyo; Primary School, Ikot Okoro; Government Primary School, Ikot Okpudo; Salvation Army Primary School, Ikot Ubo; Government School, Ikot Akpa Ofuk; Government School, Ikot Imo/Ikot Ukobo/Ikot Edikpe; St. John’s UNA School, Ikot Ekpene Udo; and Government School, Ikot Akpan II.
In Nsit Ibom LGA, beneficiaries included Government Primary School, Oboyo Ikot Ita; St. Stephanie’s African Church School, Afia Nsit I; Primary School, Ikot Oku Nsit; St. Paul Primary School, Ekpene Ikpat; St. Luke’s RCM School, Obio Okpok Nsit; Government Primary School, Ikot Obok Obo Etuk; Eyesana (ACM) District School, Obontong; Qua Iboe Church School, Afia Nsit/Mbiokporo II; St. Paul’s CME Primary School, Afaha Ofiong/Afia Nsit; and Demonstration Primary School, Afaha Nsit.
Teachers and community leaders across the three LGAs expressed gratitude to Obong Ekpo for his intervention, describing it as timely and impactful. They commended the lawmaker for demonstrating a genuine commitment to education and grassroots empowerment.
