Itu Chairman Backs Gov. Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda, Gifts Vehicles, Chief of Staff Gets Car
The Executive Chairman of Itu Local Government Council, Hon. Ubong Nkutt, on Monday distributed vehicles to key beneficiaries, reinforcing his commitment to people-oriented governance in a strong demonstration of grassroots leadership aligned with the developmental vision of Governor Umo Eno.
The event, held at the Itu Local Government Council Secretariat, Mbak Atai, featured the presentation of two mini buses and a car, in what observers described as a practical expression of the ARISE Agenda at the grassroots level.
Beneficiaries included the Nigerian Forest Security Service, Itu Command, the APC Ward Chairman of East Itam III Ward 5, Mr. Effiong Iyibio, as well as the Chairman’s Chief of Staff, Hon. George Akpan, who received a surprise car gift in recognition of his service.
Presenting the vehicles, the Executive Chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan, Hon. (Evang.) Edidiong Inyang, commended the initiative, describing it as a reflection of a growing culture of people-oriented and responsive leadership at the grassroots.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Ubong Nkutt noted that the gesture was inspired by the need to deepen development at the grassroots in alignment with Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda.
He explained that the bus donated to the security outfit would enhance operational efficiency and boost morale among personnel tasked with safeguarding lives and property in Itu, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to supporting the Governor’s development-driven vision.
Receiving the vehicle on behalf of the organisation, the South-South Zonal Commander, Mr. Ime Peters, expressed gratitude to the Chairman, noting that the support would significantly improve service delivery.
A visibly elated Chief of Staff, Hon. George Akpan, who was taken by surprise, described the gesture as a mark of uncommon generosity and pledged continued dedication to duty.
Earlier, the Chairman extended Easter goodwill by presenting gifts to the Paramount Ruler of Itu, His Royal Majesty Edet Akpan Inyang, alongside clan heads, while his wife, Mrs. Idongesit Ubong Nkutt, shared similar gestures with their spouses.
