Essien Udim communities regain power after years in blackout
A member of the House of Representatives, Patrick Umoh PhD, says he has facilitated the installation of new transformers for communities in Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
In a post on Facebook, Mr Umoh said the beneficiaries include residents of Mbiabong, Ekoi Ikpe in Ikpe Annang, and Nto Obio Akpan in Ekpenyong 1.
According to him, the communities had been without electricity for four years, while the General Hospital in Ikpe Annang had experienced six years of total blackout.
Mr Umoh said the new transformers would restore electricity to homes, businesses and healthcare facilities, adding that more interventions would follow.
Over 300 reactions of the posts with majority of the people commending the lawmaker, one of them is Essien Emaido who said “So happy to see this. Sure you will keep this up and not get distracted. Congratulations Sir.”
