The award was presented during a ceremony held on Friday, August 9, 2024, at the Vinpy Event Center, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo.

The event, which marked the inauguration of the SOSSA Alumni and homecoming, brought together students, alumni, and dignitaries from various walks of life. The award recognized Mr. Samuel’s consistent support and generosity toward students within the Faculty of Sciences and the larger university community, which has significantly enhanced the welfare and academic experiences of many.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Samuel expressed his deep appreciation for the honor and reaffirmed his commitment to supporting educational development, as enshrined in Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda, and the empowerment of young people in Akwa Ibom State.

He encouraged the students and alumni to create partnerships with the current peace-loving and pro-people administration of the state, led by Pastor Umo Eno, Governor of Akwa Ibom State. He also urged them to continue striving for excellence and to give back to the community in any way they can.

The event also featured a series of activities designed to strengthen the bond between current students and alumni, fostering a sense of unity and purpose within the faculty. Attendees were treated to various performances and networking opportunities, making the event both memorable and impactful.
