Umo Eno Calls for Agricultural Revival in Akwa Ibom, Appreciates Local Entrepreneurs

Governor Umo Eno has urged support groups and Akwa Ibom people to embrace agriculture in addition to their other skills, in a bid to revive the agricultural sector and ease the current hardships caused by poor agricultural output.

The Governor made the remarks when he arrived Akwa Ibom from a foreign trip recently, and was welcomed by several groups notable was the One Million Support Group led by one Imoh Ekpeyong which he acknowledged and appreciated.

The Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Political Support Groups, Pastor Samuel Edet, presented the  several groups to the Governor, praising his administration’s efforts in promoting youth entrepreneurship and community development, such as the new addition to the Ibom Air fleet and the Compassionate Homes initiative.

“The One Million Job and Community Group, led by Mr. Imoh Ekpenyong, presented some of their products to Governor Umo Eno, showcasing the fruits of their entrepreneurial skills as part of celebration of 2024 world skills day.

Governor Umo Eno used the opportunity to comment on the recent Supreme Court judgment on local government autonomy, 

he commended the decision, stating that his administration had already been implementing such autonomy in the state. 

He noted that the ruling served to further validate the practices already in place in Akwa Ibom.

The highlight of the welcome event was the presentation of products created by entrepreneurs to Governor Umo Eno, a testament to their hard work and entrepreneurial spirit.
