GOVERNOR ENO INSPECTS PROJECTS IN EKET, NSIT UBIUM, ORDERS SPEEDY COMPLETION

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, on Friday embarked on an unscheduled inspection of ongoing government projects in Nsit Ubium and Eket Local Government Areas, charging contractors to accelerate work and ensure timely delivery of critical infrastructure projects.

The inspection tour covered the ongoing 2.4-kilometre Ofriyo Road and 120-metre bridge linking Nsit Ubium and Eket, the General Hospital and Model Primary School in Nsit Ubium, as well as the dualisation of the 11.6-kilometre Ikot Imoh–Strabag Junction–Eket Road.

Speaking during the visit, Governor Eno reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to the delivery of people-oriented projects under the ARISE Agenda aimed at improving rural connectivity, healthcare, education and economic development across the state.

While expressing satisfaction with the pace and quality of work on some of the projects, the governor directed contractors handling the various sites to intensify efforts and ensure speedy completion in line with agreed timelines.

He stressed the need for strict adherence to quality standards and warned against unnecessary delays capable of slowing down the delivery of projects to benefiting communities.

Governor Eno further stated that regular project inspection and monitoring had become a key strategy of his administration to guarantee accountability, compliance with specifications and value for public funds.

The governor was accompanied on the inspection by the Commissioner for Works, Eno Ibanga; Commissioner for Information, Aniekan Umanah; alongside stakeholders including Monday Uko and Emmanuel Enoidem, SAN, among other community leaders.
