Ikim Unveils Grassroots Strategy as Renewed Hope Ambassadors Gear Up for 2027

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Akwa Ibom State have formally transitioned from planning to action with the release of their Local Government Area (LGA) Coordinators, signalling early and deliberate mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Speaking in an interview with the group’s Media Directorate, the Akwa Ibom State Coordinator, Obong Prince Ikim described the unveiling of the coordinators as a defining moment for the organisation, noting that electoral success is built on structure, consistency, and sustained engagement rather than rhetoric. According to him, the development establishes a measurable and accountable presence of the group across all local governments in the state.

Obong Ikim explained that the decision to prioritise grassroots coordination at this early stage was informed by lessons from past electoral cycles, where late voter engagement often proved ineffective. He said the Renewed Hope Ambassadors are adopting a model anchored on continuous political education, relationship building, and issue-based communication that aligns national policies with local realities.

He further outlined the role of the LGA Coordinators as the backbone of the group’s mobilisation architecture, serving as the link between state leadership and ward-level teams. Their responsibilities, he said, include voter sensitisation, feedback gathering, policy communication, and collaboration with community influencers to ensure messages resonate with everyday experiences of the people.

On concerns surrounding ongoing economic reforms, he acknowledged the hardship faced by citizens but maintained that honesty and transparency remain central to the group’s engagement strategy. He noted that explaining the rationale behind difficult policy decisions helps build trust and reinforces the long-term objective of economic stability and growth.

Distinguishing the Renewed Hope Ambassadors from other political support groups, Ikim emphasised discipline, clarity of purpose, and structured engagement, describing the organisation as a policy-driven platform committed to persuasion through trust rather than provocation.

Expressing confidence in the political awareness of Akwa Ibom voters, he stated that the group’s preparedness and statewide structures position it to engage meaningfully ahead of 2027. He called on supporters of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to focus on organisation and constructive mobilisation, stressing that “Renewed Hope is not a slogan, but a responsibility.”

The Renewed Hope Ambassadors are a pro-government mobilisation group established to articulate, defend, and advance the policy direction of the Tinubu administration at the grassroots level.
