GOVERNOR UMO ENO MOURNS THE PASSING OF REV. DR. UMA UKPAI
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, Ph.D., on behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State, has expressed his deepest condolences over the passing of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, a globally revered evangelist, visionary Christian leader, and one of the co-founders of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).
In a condolence message released by his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, Governor Eno described Rev. Dr. Ukpai as “a Kingdom General whose life and ministry profoundly impacted the body of Christ in Nigeria and beyond.”
“With deep reverence and heartfelt gratitude to God for a life fully devoted to His service, we mourn the passing of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai, a global evangelist, Christian visionary leader, and one of the co-founders of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN).
“Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai was a true apostle of faith whose ministry shaped the spiritual landscape of Nigeria and inspired revival across nations.
“For over six decades, he proclaimed the Gospel with passion, power, and prophetic insight, bringing multitudes to Christ and mentoring generations of ministers who today continue to carry the torch of evangelism.”
The Governor further noted that “despite not being an indigene of Akwa Ibom State, his fatherly role, Christian work, and enduring presence here made him a spiritual pillar to many. Through the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association based in Uyo, he championed initiatives that helped strengthen the faith, empowered young people, and advanced the work of God in diverse ways.
“His benevolent spirit, humility, and deep compassion for humanity reflected the true essence of Christian leadership.”
Governor Eno also recalled Rev. Dr. Ukpai’s consistent moral and spiritual support for the Arise Agenda, describing him as “a strong supporter of our people-centered development blueprint, which he regarded as an expression of godly vision, service, and compassion in governance.
“He consistently prayed for the peace and progress of Akwa Ibom State and offered wise counsel that strengthened our shared pursuit of sustainable growth and spiritual renewal.”
“Akwa Ibom people join the rest of the nation and the global Christian community in mourning this General of the Christian faith, who fought a good fight and finished his course in faith,” the Governor added.
Governor Eno extended his condolences on behalf of the Government and people of Akwa Ibom State to the Ukpai family, the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), and all who were touched by the late evangelist’s ministry.
“May the Lord receive His faithful servant into eternal rest and grant comfort to those he leaves behind,” the Governor concluded.
